Planning our test shoot

before we shoot our opening sequence we did a test shoot to test our how our ideas translate on to a camera. it is important to do a test shoot as it allows us to practice the filming techniques that we want to use in the final film and test if they are possible or not. it also allows us to see how long our initial idea would be on camera, the final product needs to be two minutes long.

Planning

casting:
Daughter: Darcy (A1 student)
Father: James (A1 Student)
(two group members absent so we have to use stand in's)

location:
Studio

Props:
Coffee cup: Coffee cup

Kettle: paper towel roll

board game: hungry hippos

Shoot breakdown:

we got all of the main shots that we needed. however, since we had stand in actors who didn't know the narrative some of the scenes weren't how we planned they would look. also since most of the shots are of small details that we need to have in the final shoot, we obviously didn't have access to too those when shooting in a studio.

after editing the draft we realised that a lot of the shots that we took needed to be longer, this means that we need to extend the length of a lot of our shots so that the scenes have a more eerie feel.
